Most recently Amy has been working at her local community hub as a Volunteer Development Officer. She has a real passion for people and has enjoyed seeing people’s confidence grow and quality of life improve as they reconnect with and support their local community through volunteering. Amy has engaged volunteers in various projects and services which aim to improve the health and wellbeing of the over 50s in the local area.
Previously Amy worked in education, teaching English Language and Literature at secondary level. Amy loves to travel and experience different cultures. She has taught English as a Second Language in summer schools abroad and worked for a group of English Language schools in China as a Curriculum Development Lead and Educational Consultant. She has also volunteered on care and community projects in Ghana and Borneo.
Amy enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking along the Kent coast, live music, reading and gardening in her free time.
Amy strives to achieve the best possible outcome for the individuals and groups she works with and loves seeing people flourish and support each other to thrive. She is keen and excited to support community-based services and activities for adults in Kent, offering more flexibility and choice for people to live the lives that they want to live.
