I started my health and social care career as an NHS midwife before moving into the charity sector where I set up and project managed a range of services aimed at mental health and social welfare improvement. This involved working with the Ministry of Justice, Clinical Commissioning Groups, local authorities, public health and social care commissioners, and primary care.
I ran my own successful private therapy practice for 10 years before taking on the role of Chief Executive of a failing countywide charity, and redesigned and improved their services, securing funding for its sustainable future. In my last role I set up a new social prescribing service across two counties in partnership with primary care and the local authority, and managed a local community coordination service.
I am passionate about supporting local people to use their energies and talents to deliver community-led services that help other local people get the support they need to live the lives they want.
