Zoe joined Community Catalysts in October 2018 as the Community Enterprise Catalyst for Birmingham. This exciting project was a great opportunity to connect with brilliant, energic local people who were offering community-based activities and support for people in the city.
Zoe enjoyed helping enterprises to develop and particularly loved the variety – every enterprise was offering something unique based on the skills of the leaders. This ranged from fitness classes to drama groups, gardening projects and discos! It was great to see new opportunities begin to develop which were accessible for autistic adults or with a learning disability.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, Zoe worked with Harry who was the Catalyst in Rotherham to develop ‘The Buzz by Community Catalysts’: a Facebook group and online resource with videos of fun and engaging things that people could do at home. It was brilliant to see the group grow to over 500 members and to see the range of videos made by community enterprises across the UK.
Zoe has now moved into a National Project Support Officer role which is a chance to support Community Catalysts’ work across the country. Zoe works with Catalysts in different areas, providing additional support alongside the Project Managers and Director of Community Enterprise.
Outside of work, Zoe enjoys running, walking and discovering new places with her husband and young baby so you will probably find her anywhere outdoors (especially if the sun is shining!)
