City of Westminster

The Westminster Community Micro-Enterprise Project supported local people to create high-quality, community-based care, support and activity opportunities for autistic people, people with learning disabilities, older people and people living with dementia.

Over two and a half years, ending in June 2026, Community Catalysts worked alongside local residents and partners to strengthen community-led support across Westminster. During the project, 21 enterprises achieved the Community Catalysts Doing it Right Standards, demonstrating their commitment to quality, safety and personalisation.

A particular focus of the project was supporting people with learning disabilities and autistic people to develop and run their own enterprises and ventures, enabling them to share their skills, contribute to their communities and build greater independence.

The project helped increase choice, connection and opportunity for local residents by growing a diverse network of care and support.

One of the enterprises supported through the Westminster project, Tracey J Art, demonstrates how community-led enterprises can improve wellbeing, reduce isolation and create meaningful opportunities for local people.

“As we reach the end of this project with Community Catalysts, it is clear how much has been achieved through a genuinely collaborative and values-driven partnership. Together, we have established a strong network of Community Micro Enterprises across Westminster and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, strengthening local, personalised care and creating meaningful opportunities for residents.

Community Catalysts have been exceptional partners—professional, solution-focused and a pleasure to work with—playing a central role in shaping and embedding this offer. Their approach, alongside the energy and commitment of Joe and Bhupinder, has been instrumental in building a sustainable model that reflects the strength, resilience and potential of locally led care.”
