A partnership with Oxfordshire County Council to support local people set up and run small enterprises that offer help and care at home and in the community for older and disabled people. This also includes setting up a group or activity for people to get involved in and enjoy.
Community micro-enterprises are very small ventures (fewer than eight staff), offering a wide range of support and services, from help at home to arts and crafts, exercise classes and social clubs. We also have some start-up grants available if you wish to set up an activity in the community for people with learning disabilities.
We’ll walk alongside you and guide you every step of the way to ensure you ‘do it right’.
As part of the project, we have developed a directory to showcase community enterprises in the local area.

The project started in 2020 with a focus on the Cherwell district, and since then we have developed strong links to other local, strengths-based work.
In 2021, Community Catalysts joined forces with SaluteMyJob to extend the reach of the offer to veterans and their families in the Oxfordshire area.
Due to the success of the project, in April 2023, the project was extended for another three years to cover the District of Vale of White Horse. The focus remains on helping people to set up their own community enterprises offering care or support, but also on increasing the number of local groups that people can connect with.
