The Royal Borough of Greenwich is leading the delivery of its Community Micro-Enterprise Programme, with day-to-day implementation managed by Linzi Colaco,
Community Enterprise/Asset Development Lead. Community Catalysts has been commissioned to provide specialist support, direction and resources, including the design and delivery of the development programme.
The programme supports people and community groups to start or grow small local enterprises offering flexible, personalised help and care. This includes support in people’s homes and community-based options such as local activities and day opportunities. Enterprises are supported through a comprehensive development programme, with ongoing guidance, links to relevant partners and access to a facilitated peer support network to help them develop safe, high-quality and sustainable offers.
This work aligns with Royal Greenwich’s Together for Greenwich strategy and priorities in the Council’s Market Sustainability Plan, including strengthening choice and flexibility through Direct Payments and exploring routes such as Individual Service Funds. By growing community-driven care and support options, the programme will promote independence, help people remain at home for longer, and reduce pressure on statutory services, while also contributing to an inclusive local economy through enterprise development and employment.
Local enterprises can also showcase their offer via Small Good Stuff, Community Catalysts’ directory of small, local care and support services.
