Gloucestershire

Set-up and aims of the project

We’re excited to start a two-year project in partnership with Gloucestershire County Council in September 2024. The project will support people to set-up sustainable community micro-enterprises that offer care and support to older and disabled people in their homes.

The aim is to increase the choice of small, local and creative support options. These small community micro-enterprises will complement traditional homecare options and will be available to people who are keen to self-direct their own support.

Heather Vincent, our local Community Enterprise Catalyst is leading the work, connecting with and supporting people in the community who want to help and make a difference to the lives of other people.

As part of the project, we have developed a directory to showcase community enterprises in the local area.

Gloucestershire County Council is excited to be working with Community Catalysts to develop community micro-enterprises in Gloucestershire, which will enable opportunities for local people and communities. This will offer more local choice and flexibility to people within Gloucestershire who need care and support.
